Is your DVD player set up next to speakers on. What is the sound smooth set at on each speaker? Does it hold Dolby Digital output?
First construct sure you have select digital sound input - any coaxial or optical. Also make sure you are within surround sound mode and not stereo mode. You are going to need to provide like mad more information to diagnose the problem. It could be media hook up or the devices themselves.
