What is the difference between dolby digital or prologic?

just incase anyone have confused you, dolby digiltal are the proud owners of prolodgic. Prolodgic quite simply is Dolby trying to show sour, didn't really work! For beter sound use one of the other surround setings on your surround system.some apposite answers there thuough
Dolby Digital is a track with 5 seperate channel and an LFE (low frequency effect) and is encoded on most DVDs, BluRays, some video games, some High def from cable, sat, or stale air hd. Pro Logic is a text of stereo sound spliced to come out of 5 speakers. The nouns quality is much better using Dolby Digital. They are different products... I prefer dolby digital. PRO-LOGIC:
Starts with a stereo (2 channel) ANALOG signal so stereo VCR's and stereo television would not have to renovate to carry it. It feature:
- A voice-track can be stripped from the L/R signals to feed a center speaker.
- A single rear-track can be stripped from the L/R signals to nurture 2 speakers - but the same nouns goes to both flipside speakers and no sounds below about 150 hz could step to the rears.
Dolby Digital

Like what's be said, dolby digital is 5 discrete channels plus the subwoofer and pro logic is sort of spurious 5.1. It takes a 2 guide signal and intelligently makes 5.1 out of it.
