Computer to home theathre system? How can I connect my computer to my home

How can I connect my computer to my home theatre system so that I can listen to music through that instead of my computer speakers?
Answers:

i use an fm transmitter plugged into the headphone socket and then tune within the radio on my home theatre to pick up the nouns.there relatively cheap aswell and saves messy wires it will convey the sound to any radio within the house aswell even the bathroom Depends on the kind of outputs your computer has and the kind of inputs your receiver have. If you can connect it via S/PDIF (Digital Coaxial or Digital Optical) then you're set next to true surround sound capability. If your PC isn't equipped with S/PDIF, you can find a stereo 1/8" phone to RCA cable and use that. Plug the 1/8" phone (like headphones) cease into your PC and the RCA (red & white) end into your addressee. You won't get true surround but most receiver will mix stereo into 5.1...that is if you even hold a 5.1 system.
I found a USB digital audio device on Amazon and get a basic optical nouns. It transfers sound via SPDIF and confer a superb playback of DTS suondtracks.
yeah i agree with the first answer a 1/8th jack within the headphones jack to an RCA plugs (red and white) surrounded by the back of the system's reciever (or front if it have one in front)
