of DVD movie. My 29'' samsung standard def tv supports Component video.I now use the wan cable(composite) to connect my philips progressive scan dvd player to TV.Is it worthwhile to invest in a expensive component video cable. If so which is the best cable to buy.Does progressive scan work on standard def CRT tv also ?
Answers:
Progressive scan does not work on a standard def box.

You would be better off beside an SVideo connection.

The 3 standard def nouns types are:

Composite - baseline
SVideo - 20% improvement over Composite
Component - 25% augmentation over Composite

So SVide is your best bang-for-the-buck.

I tend to buy HD rated component cable from BlueJeans. They also sell Svideo cable, but SVideo has be around so long the AR Pro series for $18 works well
If it's a flat standard TV in attendance is slight importance, contained by it's the bubble screen nice, no!

Just get an HD LCD or a DLP or a HD plasma! standard CRT Tv are interlaced... no track to change that.. a LCD tv would be progressive.

Yes it might abet to buy some component cable, it depend of the quality of the TV, Colors might be better.
You don't hold to spend that much , just don't buy the amazingly cheapest... buy the middle priced cable. Your CRT tv will never give you more than 480i video anyway.
