Is PCM output from CD/DVD player really "raw" signal from the disc? I've recently bought a highend Denon DVD palyer claiming

I've recently bought a highend Denon DVD palyer claiming to boast superior DACs, but I also own a very fitting Yamaha home theater amplifier. I'm concerned that if I only use the "raw" signal picked up by DVD palyer, the money is dried up. My bottom question is that " is the PCM signal (from digital audio output) converted directly from the bit signal picked up by laser reader or is it re-produced after man DACed?"
Could anyone give me some direction as how to make the best past its sell-by date the good DVD player and home theater amplifier?
Answers:  PCM is the "raw" signal. If you enjoy "high-end" player, it probably has better DAC than Yamaha beneficiary, so you are better off connecting analog (R/L) output to Yamaha, and MAKE SURE YOU BYPASS ALL OF THE PROCESSING! Use something close to "pure stereo" of "bypass" mode.
