Please Explain HDMI, Composite, and Component Differences? I am planning on buying a 26" Viewsonic Widescreen

I am planning on buying a 26" Viewsonic Widescreen LCD 720P TV from Sam's Club. Already figured out that the satellite heir will hookup but need to numeral out if the PS3 and Wii will hook up with their HD Cables. I hold what I believe are HD Cables for the Wii, Pb, Pr or something like that and the HDMI cable that come with the PS3. However do not construe. You can get precise, I know my way around most tech but, for some grounds, I have vanished High Definition till last. I know composite is the Red Yellow and White cable. So the Pb and Pr is component right? Gaah brain hurts trying to get this to work.

High-Definition Multimedia Interface

Enough said.
Composite = Low Def 480i resolution, 3 cable...
Yellow = Video
Red and White = Audio

Component = Hi Def (Analog) up to 1080i... 5 cables...
White/Red = Audio
Green/Blue/Red = Video

HDMI = Hi Def (Digital) from 480i to 1080p... 1 cable...
1 cable is for pure Audio & Video.

HDMI is the best. It can be confusing. You are correct though, the "HD" cable you stipulation for your Wii, to get a 480p signal, is a "Component Cable". Just remember to adjust your settings surrounded by the "Wii Settings" menu. HDMI is the connector used to reach up to and including, full HD (1080p). A lot of the HD TV's out here cant reach full HD though. Most manage 720p, which is a more than high plenty resolution, especially if the TV is under 42" (probably bigger). HD TV channel are broadcasting 720p. The PS3 is supposed to output 1080p, but i dont think at hand are any games, or any blu-ray movies available in that resolution but. Even if there be, you would need a big TV, and you would stipulation to be viewing it from the optimal distance before you notice any improvement of the picture.
