Def Techs Pro Cinema 600 and Denon 1508? I currently have an HD-TV (720P only) and use

I currently have an HD-TV (720P only) and use my PS3 for Blu-Ray movies. I basically purchased a home theatre system consisting of Def Techs Pro Cinema 600 and a Denon 1508 heir. Is this a good combination for the price (paid just about $1,100.00 total)?

Apparently the Denon 1508 requires that you use an optical audio cable even though it passes HDMI. So my other press is...Do I even need to go past the HDMI from my PS3 and my DirectTV box through the Denon, or since I have the optical cable from both going to the receiver, should I only connect the HDMI cable directly to the tv, as I did before?

This would salvage me from having to buy another HDMI cable.
Answers:  Not sure roughly speaking the first part of your give somebody the third degree. The Denon 1508 receiver is probably almost a $300 item so if you got it for $350 or smaller quantity without charge. Not sure about the Def Tech Pro Cinema.

Yes. I would use your HDMI for video and your optical for nouns to save $$ on buying another cable. You shouldn't awareness much of a difference between HDMI and optical. Be sure to change your settings so it'll make out that you are on optical.
