I am using a 30ft component cable to my tv. is that to long and will i lose signal? do i want a signal booster I am trying to split my hd-dvr to two

I am trying to split my hd-dvr to two tvs. one is 30ft away. I bought a 30ft component cable and a regular splitter. like this one http://www.trianglecables.com/rgb-splitt... i can't appear to get a signal. is the component cable to long? do i want a signal booster?
Answers:
With that length you will run into impedance mismatch issues. by splitting the cable. That set up will drive down the impedance to a unusable horizontal. You will require a signal distribution amp that will create the correct impedance for your system.
Sounds close to you have the right theory.

Component cables own been used at distances up to several hundred foot ... so 30 ft should not be an issue.

I assume the shorter connection is working? Have you tried taking the splitter out of the loop to see if the cable works by itself to the far TV? If that works it's the splitter. If not, you may own a bum cable.

See the link for info on component cable. As with adjectives analog cables the running is dependent on quality, but total dud with an analog cable would be unusual.
Um.. What 42 finances by mismatch is that a signal will follow the path of least possible resistance. In this case I tight literally. There is less length on one side of the split so the signal will flow more freely on that track. This would be why the closer TV might get the signal and the furthur one wouldn't. Something moving might help. I am sure that Audio Authority have a 1x2 out component distribution block.
No you will not need a signal booster component cable of been used up too 200 hundred foot and sometimes longer so no you will not need to. The distance isn't a problem, but your TV is expecting a 1 volt peek-to-peek signal on y, pb and pr. If you split it, your TV won't get it.

You inevitability a component video distribution amplifier. Here's a few to choose from, and check with Radio Shack too.
