Blu-ray have many more times the storage size and therefore it can hold movies in full High definition up to 1080p. Blu-ray discs can solely be played on blu-ray players. Blu-rays are only needed if you own a good hdtv, and they will look channel better than a standard dvd when viewed on an hdtv. There is a difference in the technology that allows Blu-Ray discs to hold more information on the same amount of space.
