I need to extend my xbox 360 component cable is it possible for me to use couplers and extend it beside a normal rca connected to it? Would it work?

Answers:  It is obviously possible, as my favorite saying go, "the electrons don't care what color the cable is"

That being said, component connections are analog and as a result can suffer from electrical interference and the signal can easily be degraded. Therefore, you may want to ruminate about using some higher-quality (read: shielded) cable, however don't get too worried in the order of stuff like gold-plating as that basically means at hand is a microscopic layer of gold ingots around the normal steel connector. For short runs, the cheapest you can acquire will likely be more than modest.
