I have a brand new 32" LCD (westinghouse sk-32h240s) with 2 HDMI's + 1 L/R, ANT, 2 Video/ S-Video contained by, 2 YPbPr in's,1 D-sub(vga) in, 1 PC audio mini within, 5 audio in (dual RCA), 1 audio out (dual RCA),1 SPDIF optical out. My HTS is a Sony Bravia DAV-HDX265 near 1 TV/Video (audio in R/L), 1 monitor out (S video/video), 1 digital medium port, 1 component video out, 1 hdmi out. I have the 40 GB PS3 (used fundamentally for Blu Ray)with 1 hdmi out, analog a/v multi x 1, digital out optical x 1, and 2 usbs. The Direct TV reciever has 1 s-video, 1 out to TV co -axial, 2 video out (yellow), 2 audio outs (red and white), and 1 usb port. I be wondering what was the best method to hook all this up for best nouns and picture and the hardware that I will need to do it?
Answers:
First off variety things simple man holy crap.
Use HDMI for the PS3 for bluray playback
Use the component audio for the HTS.
Upgrade to hdtv receiver for Directtv service and use HDMI for this element.
....what? lol All devices (ps3, dvd player, etc) should be hooked into the inputs within the back, (HDMI for anything beside HDMI outputs available) Audio out to a reciever that then will output to your theater system. Cable will shift in the solely coax (unless you have hi def later use the HDMI) your sound system can be a million different types depending on your budget, chitchat to a stereo rep at the nearest electronics store (Best buy, etc)
