Is Blu-ray dvd player stable now, especailly after what happen with Toshiba? I own to buy a new dvd player since my antediluvian one is out of order. I mull over it's not a good opinion to buy a ordinary dvd player today since blu-ray dvd player come out. Oponions are welcome..thankfulness for your help

I just read that Toshiba won't take home DVD players anymore, and that some studios are only releasing blu-ray disc movies very soon. does that mean that my DVD player, and adjectives my DVDs in my collection are immediately obsolete? do you know how much MONEY I've get invested in these favorite movies? will blu-ray play on my standard DVD player? I'm still limp onto my VHs player and have TONS of dated VHS movies I love. As everything changes, I seize broker and broker.

Broken Coax Spdif cable?
I have a monster coax spdif cable. I tripped on it, and broken the cable bring to a close. Does anybody know how i can replace the connector. I have read the specs on coax spdif, i realize that the terminator is done on the connector. So any suggestion on that would be helpfully too I don't want to buy a fresh one, it's a 6 meter cable, and there's nothing wrong near it. I am very comfortable beside soldering, so i'll dyi the cable myself no problem. Links would be helpful.
