my room is rectangleular and my tv/computer is in one partition like a square. i enjoy hard wood foors so i cant put the speaker rope under the rug and i dont hold 4 conners of wall to put them on . my speakers dont come with a stand so i enjoy no idea where on earth to put them?

I am considering Sony and Bose which friend suggest are best of them all. However, Bose systems are road more expensive than Sony. Why is it so ? Is it true that a lower end Bose model have a much better sound effects as compared to superior end Sony Models ? I havn't see Bose yet but enjoy zeroed in on a Sony System to be precise 1200 W RMS with 4 stand mounted speakers, one small inside speaker and a bog woofer. Can someone guide me on that ?

ok. i have a jvc shelf system that have 540 watts with merely 2 speakers (subwoofer has 180 watts x2 and largest speakers has 90 watts x2). it also have digital out (optical) and 4 channels. My problem is that i don't exactly know what the channel mean, my guess is to grasp a reciever that has 4+ channel that has 180 watts within each warren but i don't know if it's right or exactly what i'm looking for to accomplish this thing i'm trying to do. so if anyone know what i'm talking nearly and can help afterwards please reply with a solution and/or within depth summary of whatever can aid me.
