Will sound work if you play a dts DVD through a DVD player that supports dts but doesn't run through an amp, and straight into the TV?

Hi! Is there a unadulterated difference in hooking up my subwoofer through the RCA output on the vertebrae of my receiver as opposing the normal, lead hook up, which I have the risk of? I ask because I am wondering if some cutoff issues I am having beside my amp has to do beside the way it's hooked up. Thanks!

Receiver Question Regarding HDMI?
I don't know much about receiver, but I'm looking to buy one in the effective future. I enjoy: XBOX 360 (not the HDMI connection) w/ HD DVD drive, Philips HDTV, HD DVR and a cheap home theater system. I'm wondering whether or not I could watch HD movies near my XBOX drive with a addressee that does not have HDMI connections? Would it be a throw away of money to buy one that doesn't?

Re-coding a DVD player?
I heard that some DVD players can hold a code input to re-format them from a Region 1 player to a region 2. I have a region one DVD player and I'd approaching to buy a UK (PAL) DVD and use it on my region 1 player. Is it true a code input would allow for this? If so, where do I find such a code/instructions?

Recommend small speakers for a friend's cafe?
hi. my friend started a breakfast/lunch place and his speakers are awful! i'd like to buy him brand new (or used) speakers; max = $400. the smaller the speakers the better. i'll probably mount them on the wall in the corners. the place is small and kids devour there too near their parents so floor speakers are just a disaster waiting to appear. wireless would be cool if that works cuz seeing cords is ugly, right? so i'd resembling to get counsel on what specific brand and model to look for and any other suggestions. e.g., is wireless a bad belief? thanks!
