It's an old building and the cover have been painted over, so I can't unscrew it.
I tried to unplug it to reset my internet, and instead, yank the wire departing just the plastic stuck within the wall. I've tried tweezers and a screw driver to pry it out with no nouns. Anyone have any notion how to get ito ut minus ripping out the wall or damaging the jack? Thanks

For starters, you should know how to get the cover bad by taking a VERY sharp knife and goiong around the limits of the cover to cut through the paint. Please be careful beside that knife :) If you are refering to the modular plug stuck contained by the jack, use a small screw driver to depress the plastic tab while you pull out the plug near a pair of needlenose pliers.
