Phone say its 'contained by use' but it's not? I ruminate someone might've connected to our queue and is using it? i've tried pressing every button on the phone but
i've tried pressing every button on the phone but nothing works. i've tried to use my cell to telephone my home phone but nothing happen, no answering machine, no nought. help?

Unplug the phone from the electrical outlet.
check all of the other phones and see if they are out of the reciever. save i dont know wat to tell u There could be a short contained by your wiring someplace, possibly cause by a rodent chewing through a wire... happen to me once, I solved the problem by switching the wiring twosome from the green and red wires to the yellow and black unused wires at both the demarcation point (where the phone dash comes into your home) and the "hub" in the attic serving the upstairs phones.
another possibility is a defective device on your row... individually unplug each device on your dash (including answering machines, modems, auxiliary ringers, etc) until the light go out.
