i dont think you can first, you gotta enjoy a phone that supports text/data...! There are phones like that our at hand, but the average person don't own them!
now, if you enjoy VoIP....there you can dispatch .wave.files ( messages via your email) and also register them onto the iPot or any MP3 player! I have that beside my VoIP provider for free.its part of in that features...!
