Hi,
Comcast sent to me a letter explaining that I hold to switch my Comcast Digital Phone service to Comcast Digital Voice. If I don't switch my phone service will be terminated. The problem is: They want to change my current phone number also, witch I AM NOT WILLING TO GIVE UP.
They tried to explain beside some FCC rules .#$%%&&**(**^% .
Do we have any ruling that protects me and my phone number as a 5 years long customer who paid other on time? That picky number I have have for 8 1/2 years and don,t understand why so big company is looking after my phone number?
Any serve out there?
PS: I don't own problem with switching from Comcast Digital Phone service to Comcast Digital Voice by itself.
Thank You.

Complain loudly to the FCC.
I enjoy never heard a biddable thing roughly speaking Comcast and always avoided them approaching the plague. They pull this sort of stunt adjectives the time. If it's not forcing you to change your number, they're filter your online traffic without your consent.
Nope, you're stuck...
One article about service companies, is they will do anything contained by their power to keep you as a customer, not because they want to service you (like they read aloud they do), but they want your money, and by losing a customer, they are losing money going into their pockets
Use that fact to your good thing, tell them that you don't mind switching, because it would be a similar service lower than a different name (and some other subtle differences), but that you don't want to supply up your number, and if (based on the FCC rules they are trying to push onto you) have to correction your number, then you will evolution your telephone service to (insert other phone company here), when they return with word of that they are bound to say something approaching "we will do the best we can to keep your phone number, but we can't engender any promises" or something like that, and since they don't want you to switch services, in attendance is a high arbitrary you can keep your number
Or if they don't permit you keep your number, do exactly what you threatened, sign up for a different phone service, continue about a year to so, and call upon back and hold your service switched back to Comcast, and since you are a "hot customer" they should have the number verbs plan, or if not, utter that you are going to keep anything service you switched to, since they want you as a customer, they will probably take that threat and consent to you keep your number, otherwise, the other service is probably better for you afterwards
I have never see a situation where threatening a service company (within reason) that you would donate them if they don't give something or permit some transfer or something, didn't work, because if they didn't, it one and only proved that they didn't care have you as a customer You should be capable of KEEP your phone number.!!
