On a cellular phone, why does ABC start on the number 2 and not 1?

Answers:
One & Zero were reserved for long-distance & hand;
perhaps to prevent confusion next to the letters "I" & "O".
Letters be assigned to exchange names originally.
"Q" be not used any, because it had to run with "U".
We used 8 numbers for the 26 junk mail in the alphabet, .
1 indicates that you are dialing a long distance number so it cannont be used as the first digit you press becuase the provider will assme you are dialing a long distance number. Local exchanges used to start with junk mail. No letter could use "1" because that indicates a long-distance telephone call.
