-Why do relations use PBX systems in houses?
-What are some of the advantages roughly speaking having a PBX system at home?

10 years in the industry... I enjoy come across a total of 3 people beside phone systems in at hand home... all but maybe one had no use for a phone system...

I assume you are referring to using IP-PBX.
- No, having PBX or IPBX is not adjectives for home use.
- People use PBX in homes mostly for small business purposes that require multiple mobile numbers and lines.
- Advantages would be having numerous headset numbers and lines terminating into one switching system near multiple voice-mail boxes, etc.
This would be rare want for home uses. I hold seen abundant people hold phone systems in homes.
PBX's are used when you own a home office or its a huge house and you requirement lines in every room and you want your voice to be centralized.
Advantage would be hail as transfer and centralized voice communication.
If looking I would get refurbished analog Nortel. The best contained by the industry.
