If I buy a landline phone from the USA stating CEA compatible, can I use it here contained by the UK?
Answers:
Thats a bit silly isnt it.
And why would you want to do that then? Got something against British phones av ya?
NO THEY HAVE A COMPLETLY DIFFRENT PHONE SET-UP,AND PLUGS ECT ON THERE LINES/PHONES THE MAIL USA SERVICES ARE EAST NY AT AND T AND IN LA WEST PACIFIC BELL The short the answer is a No, however the two networks are not miles apart in lingo of signalling (DTMF) however the phone jack would not work and as handsets are cheep why go to adjectives of the trouble?
Also if you plug in any equipment, and it does any spoil to the service providers network the it is you who could be charged. - Not nice as it could be expensive.
Hope this help you.
