Hi there, There¡¯s a 0191 ******* number i want, how do i move about about getting it?

When i nickname it, it doest ring, so its not active.
Telewest once said that they use to own it so it probably be still in within system so bt could port it back.
BT eventually said they could procure me it, so i went ahead near the account and latest line, but when the splash was live it wasn¡¯t the number i was after. 3 separate occasion they gave me a date of when the number would be connected, but still no cheeriness.
Now i ve contacted telewest again to see if i could start a service with them if they could return with me the number, and now nearby saying that they don¡¯t know anything going on for this number and if i started a new dash there¡¯s no guarantees i will get this number.

Please can someone assistance, i ve already spent loads on marketing materials with this number included, as BT give me no doubt contained by my mind that this number would be mine. Thanks

This is not always possible, this is down to where on earth you live and which exchange you are fed from. Sorry to speak this but BT and most other phone companies will not guarantee a number until it has be installed, as occasionally a small area could be feed from more than one exchange. All telephone numbers once they own been cease have to run into a pot and the next telecoms company will go and get it, this is not to be awkward, it is so that no one can enjoy a monopoly on the local numbers, this was fragment of de regulation supervised by OFTEL now OFCOM. The lone chance you hold of getting the number you would like is to ring up BT sales on 150, ask for a re number and see if it is possible ( this may cost as BT may enjoy to purchase the number for you ), Good Luck.
Usually they do not allocate numbers that are designed for another part of a city to a different nouns of a city or town.
Cannot see them changing at hand system for one BT user. I am so sorry for what they did to you. I worked for att for 4 years on small business accounts and we always advise our customers not to print anything until the number is working in your business because anything can come up you can travel to smartpages.com and put the number in and they should be capable of tell you who the possessor is. Also my suggestion would be to go beside a 800 number with the 7 digits your looking for. oh yea and an additional thing give the name all the phone companies surrounded by your area and communicate them you want a pzn which is a personalized phone number they should be able to communicate you off top if its available and if they supply other products pretend to be interested in everything because most communication companies are sale and commission driven and they will try there best to grasp the sale. never agree to a company tell you they can port a number from another delivery service because the only approach to port a number is if you have it live and working with another holder. I hope this helps
moveme.com they will aid for free.
i have really doomed to failure experience with bt! i would never recommend bt to anyone!
