From what I hear, some people love it; some ethnic group hate it.
In realness, that is the shield for most VoIP services.... they usually work good for you, or you are plagued near technical problems. Most problems inhabitants have near VoIP is equipment configuration related issues. So, in one sense, it is style of luck of the draw as to what works and what doesn't. (depends on every individuals equipment used and set-up).
MJ is still in beta dev phase, and customer service have a lot to be desired.... from what I hear.
But, for $40 to find started, MJ may be worth a try...
Have you also tried:
Skype, Gizmo5, or Efonica?
And, currently "EarthCaller" is completely free to use with your net browser and a headset...

Yes it does.
You should make sure that your software firewall allows magicJack to craft outbound connections. Check the documentation provided by the vendor on how to do this.
BE AWARE OF THIS COMPANY !
I cannot speak for everyone but my experience is awful. There are a lot of problems: adjectives out, statics, problem receiving and making call out(not all the time though). I contacted their tech support numerous times to resolve these problems to no avail. When I finally tried to return it, they wouldn't purloin it back clich¨¦ "it's their policy that I have the unproved packaging" which I don't have any more.
I also enjoy skype and skype is a way better than illusion jack. If I were you, I would free the original paper in covering it doesn't work out for you. Good luck ! I enjoy it and love it!!
but, remember. your computer has to be on adjectives the time!!
and there are plentifully of tricks you gotta learn to variety it work just right!!
its cheap.but I would not needed as my primary phone service!

You need a computer and a glorious speed internet connection resembling Cable or DSL (which I have)
VERY easy to install.you will be up and running inside 5 minutes...!

tip: after installation don't run it on the admin account...create another justification for the MJ!!
Also, kinda watch and close out the device head...but you will all swot up that in honest time on your own!!.
