I Have a British Telecom phone, at the side of it, at hand is three settings, one have MF T, one have MF E, and? the last one have LD, can anyone tell me
the last one have LD, can anyone tell me what they plan please?
Answers:
MF T = Multi-Frequency Timed Break Recall. This is the one you should use. Especially if you have call for waiting and want the R (Recall) button to work.
MF E = M-F Earth uses an extra wire for call in. Used with some bureau systems
LD = Loop Disconnect. This is the old rotory dial pulse method. Slow and no support for * + # key. Only now used contained by some third world countries.
Further to the previous answer "E" refers to earth hark back to facility. LD is for Loop disconnect which is the old method ie the rotory dial. MFT and MFE are multi frequencies ie 'TONE' and are the modern 'beep' . The MFT is purely to allow it to work on phone systems that have need of a timed break recall. Hope that help, Owen
