to increase the speed of my bsnl (landline) dail up connection to agreater speed
Answers:

yeh... draw from broadband You can increase the "effective" speed by using information compression by using a V.92 dial-up data modem beside V.44 data compression protocol.

By compressing the background, with V.44 compression protocol, you effectively increase the notes rate speed up to 50%. This is one of the selling features of V.92 modems.
So, even though the Internet data rate remains at a maximum of 56Kbps, the "effective" notes rate is increased by the use of data compression.

V.92 modems own the added benefit of also supporting MOH (Modem on Hold), which allows you to put your modem Internet connection "on Hold" while answering an incoming PSTN mobile call, and later go backbone to surfing when finished with the name. MOH also supports displaying Caller-ID on your computer screen when phone call come-in while surfing, too.

For maximum benefit, first check with your ISP to see if they support V.92 modem connections. Maximum benefit is solely obtained when both ends of nouns are using V.92 with V.44 compression protocols.
