And it's driving me nuts!

My sister will answer the phone and the caller will ask for any my husband or myself (we suspect they are different callers)

When my sister asks who is calling they don't answer her! She can tell they are still on the phone but they wont answer. She asks 2-3 times who is calling and they cold-shoulder her- so she will hang up.

Or she will read aloud no that we're not home and if she can take a message and they'll sway up on her.

What can we do about this?? It's rude!

It's a telemarketer, ask to be taken off the calling index or just cold-shoulder and don't answer.
I'm suprised this never happened to you until that time!
talk to them and see what they want. probably then theyll be off you alone.
If your caller ID is displaying unknown number I would recommend not answering the phone. That is the tact I lift with call that come into my land-line. Most of the time they are sales call of some flavor anyway. If it is either a sale call or a crank guest of some flavor eventually they will get tired of getting no answer or getting your answering device and give up.

You could try calling your phone company to swot up if there is process to discover what phone number the calls are originate from and have it blocked but I don't hold any hope out for that.

Think around, most of your family and friends will enjoy their numbers displayed when they call, or hand down a message, so you really aren't missing anything by letting your caller ID and answering machines do the job for which they are designed.
This happen to me turn off your phone and turn it support on in a hour of something they will procure bored and stop doing this first of....do you go and get the number from the caller ID??

I will again leave the URL to the National No Call Registry.

Also, your state may own a No Call Registry. Why register at both? Simply put, the more the better and also if you decide you want to prosecute someone who violate the list, after you have two charges, one federal one state that the prosecutor can record.
Next time, tell them it's their final advisory before you name the police for harassment. If they call upon again, call the police.
