Vonage OR AT&T for Land Line phone & internet? Which one would you perfer for Land Line phone,
Which one would you perfer for Land Line phone, and Internet. Is Vonage a faster DSL connection. I hold AT&T's DSL Lite, is Vonage's basic DSL nouns faster then AT&T's? Is the feature better in AT&T or Vonage (meaning Land Line home phone, and home DSL connection)? Thanks!
Answers:
Land-line PSTN phone service is almost always "more reliable" than Internet base VoIP phone services, regardless of who the VoIP service (Vonage, or any other).
The "only solid reason" to switch from PSTN phone to VoIP phone service is . to "Save Money".
Typically speaking, VoIP (Vonage, or any other VoIP) gives more features + far "cheaper" long distance calling.
So, if you want to salvage on long distance phone calling, then VoIP will incontestably save you money near more features.
Vonage is NOT a DSL Internet service, like your AT&T DSL Lite. Vonage is strictly VoIP home phone replacement service that runs over your Internet nouns.
So, you could subscribe to Vonage VoIP phone service while using AT&T DSL Lite as your Internet connection.
VoIP will work over DSL Lite, but is not as consistent point as if you had DSL HighSpeed of 1.5 Mbps nouns.
That said, I use InPhonex and CallCentric VoIP services with my Cable Internet "Lite" speed nouns (see link through my profile). Most of the time the VoIP level is fine with "Lite" speed.... as long as I am not surfing on Internet at same time as discussion over my VoIP phones.
I am saving tons of money by using VoIP over my Lite speed Internet nouns. My VoIP services are "pay-as-you-go", which means.... no contracts... no commitments or gimmick, or fine print, no extra hidden charges....
Vonage doesn't sell Internet or a "landscape line phone."
Vonage sell a voice over internet service, similiar to Skype, so that if your internet or power goes out so does your phone. You stipulation to bring your own internet connection first, and afterwards pay Vonage for "phone" chain, which will consist of a small box (adapter) that converts your internet connection to a dial tone for your standard phone.
Of the two AT&T is your one and only choice for a POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service) phone and DSL internet connection.
Vonage is not a good service... AT&T is reliable but they are so expensive. They won't dance down on the prices though.
I hear that Vonage is good. I enjoy AT&T for land and DSL...two things wrong near them (1) I can't pay my bill on column because their website is always jacked up and they give the impression of being to always find these taxes to hit you next to.
Vonage does NOT provide internet service. What Vonage does is dispatch the voice over the internet, so you NEED an intenet conection to have Vonage.
Got it? Trust me, I flog Vonage. I hold never had Vonage, but everyone I know who have had Vonage have had nought but problems with it and have gone bace to AT&T.
