I am a college student and when I moved into my dorm this year they gave me the landline number, and I as expected lost it, because I do not use it. Now I need to know it, but I don't know how to find out what the number is. There is a landline phone hooked up, and I'm wondering if here is a *## or something I can dial to find out my phone's number.

I am currently on Charter Digital Telephone (VOIP) and they issued me a Arris Touchstone Modem which allows me to use all of my existing touchtone phone wiring and phones. Problem is though Charters' mobile phone service stopped working. I am in the 30 year trail period and be thinking of canceling and just opt to use either Vonage, Packet 8, ATT Callvantage, Verizon's VOIP service, or some other VOIP service but I be wondering which one allows you to use your existing house phones without doing any modding to the house phone electrics just simply plugging a cell phone wire into any headset jack like Charters touchstone modem allows you to. Anyone know of a VOIP service that allows you to use your exisiting house telephone?

i'm looking for a home phone that outputs the same frequency as a usual telephone that you'd enjoy in your house. However, this phone would hold a very really long range, at lowest possible several kilometers. Are there any phones approaching this? Or are there adaptors i could buy for the phone's base/hand set itself? Any answers appreciated :)

My family is moving to a different house surrounded by a nearby town. The town have the same nouns code, just a different closure code. For some reason verizon is not letting us hang on to the same phone number. We enjoy moved different houses to different towns before and they've other let us. We own even switched phone companies and have other kept the same number. We live contained by NJ and I heard roughly speaking a law that allows you to hold on to the number, anyone know?

I am moving and in that process you usually bring a phone at the new house. My wife and I hold cell phones. No kids. So why have a home phone? Is here any good common sense. Oh, our home is in column of sight of a cell tower adn reception is great, 4 bar. Thanks for answering
