For anyone who have a zune---? I would like to buy a 4 GB black

I would like to buy a 4 GB black zune but I want to know more about it
1. How small do the songs hold to be to have 1,000?
2. Do you hold to use itunes to download music and such or is there anywhere explicitly free and legal?
3. If you use someone elses library to download music does adjectives your other songs get erased close to when using a ipod?
What are the ups and downs between ipods vs. Zunes?
Answers:

1. About 4 MB contained by size.

2. You can use anything you want. iTunes is not free but it is legal, as is Rhapsody, Napster, etc. You won't know how to find songs that are both free and legal; you enjoy to pay for them. If you download from one of those sites, you'll probably own to burn all the songs to disc and after rip them in MP3 format to catch them to play on your Zune.

3. I've not had that problem.

iPods are more popular, so if you own a problem with it, you're predictable able to find someone to explain it to you. However, I've never have a problem with the Zune, it's cheaper, and you're not restricted to using iTunes to obtain your music. I have found the user interface for Zune's uploading program to be a bit more complicated than it requests to be, but it's pretty user friendly, and I figured it out minus reading the manual. 1. You won't get to 1,000, unless you are getting more or less 2 megs a song, which won't happen. You can realistically procure 700-800. You don't get adjectives 4 gigs because it has to use some memory for the OS. This is on adjectives MP3 players, not just the Zune.

2. You can't use iTunes to attain music. You have to use Zune Marketplace. You can't win it from anywhere else. You can, but you have to be sure they are not infected next to DRM. They have the Zune Pass, which let you download as many songs as you want for 15 bucks a month. Or you can buy microsoft points, and take the song for keeps.

3. Look up guest syncing, they are adjectives over the Zune forums.

iPods are basically a polite music player, and that's it.
With the Zune, you get the music/video player plus built surrounded by FM Radio and Wireless Sync (Syncing over your wireless network). They also have Zune original, where for a small charge, you order it on Zuneoriginals.network and they put a design on the back. This is merely available on the newer Zunes. The Zune is also much more durable than the iPod, and damn near scratchproof.
Some of the other posters have it right except for one thing-you can use DRM songs you bought from iTunes and several other (not all) sources. Perfect TV is right-burn them to a cd and rip them into Zune. Then edit the artist and album information. I know you can do this because I hold done it. That's also how I know it won't work with adjectives sites.

This will give you the switch features of the 4gb Zune:

Keep in mind that 4gb of space will be shared by more than in recent times music if you want other things like pictures and video on in attendance.
I enjoy a 30GB Zune, 4 GB is used for the Zunes own memory, not sure how much a 4GB will need. I put adjectives of my CD's into the computer and the Zune software downloaded and converted every song on every CD.
I've bought songs from iTunes, but cannot put them on my Zune. But my Zune songs take converted down to play on iTunes
I've hooked my Zune up to other computers and gotten their usable music without erasing my songs.

iPods own more aftermarket products, but if you look on the answers section covering mp3 players, iPod have the most "HELP" me questions.

I've never have a problem with my Zune. Bought one when they first come out. Zero problems
