Converter/Burner from LP/cassette to compact disc..Any Ideas? Need a recommendation for a brand and model #
Need a recommendation for a brand and model # of equipment that can copy to compact disc from vinyl LP's and cassettes.
Answers: There are a couple of USB devices that can do this, but they are little more that USB audio interfaces. You can glibly do this a lot cheaper yourself...
For the USB devices, call in this link:

If you would similar to to have a progress at doing it yourself:
Put simply, you will need to connect your cassette player to your PC soundcard, consequently play the cassette whilst recording on your PC. A step-by-step guide is available at:
http://www.cassette2cd.co.uk/DIY/index.p...
(follow the intermingle to ¡®Cassette to CD¡®)
The recording software is the switch, there are some free software downloads available at:
http://www.cassette2cd.co.uk/downloads.p...
I own used ¡®Magix Audio Cleaning Lab¡¯ and ¡®Audacity¡¯ ¨C Audacity is particularly popular since it is free!
If you account to WAV format, expect file sizes of around 10MB per minute, or 1MB per minute for MP3 (at 128kbps).
Once you own your digital versions of the soundtrack on your PC, simply burn them on to a CD (Nero burning software or similar..). If you use Magix Audio Cleaning, the software will burn an audio disc for you without need additional software (assuming you enjoy a CD writing drive logically!)
You will need the other 'lame_enc.dll' file to export into MP3 - this can also be downloaded from the free software page.
You can also download a free PDF variation of the step-by¨Cstep guide from the download page mentioned above, the guide is complete with diagrams and screen-shots.
Hope this help (if you like the online guide, don't forget to 'DIGG' it....)
