I enjoy an 80gig classic.
I listen to it at work during the day and on the ride to and from work and find that the battery-operated lasts 3-4 days. I don't survey many video though. That eats the mobile up more. No complaints. I like man able to use it as a portable concrete drive if needed. Not my main use, but nice that it's an risk.
I charge it every 3-4 days generally.
The battery-operated has onlyever run out twice. Once when I forgot to turn it stale overnight, and once when I had forgotten to charge it the darkness before, but I be almost home, so I wasn't too upset.
My sister has one (80 see classic) and my two step daughters have nanos (8gig investigational one & 2 gig aged one, but upgrading next Bday). No problems that we've found. We adjectives love them. My partner's getting one today (80gig classic) after she saw how well everyone else's worked.
Age group, I'm 31, sister is 28, kids are 15 & 11, partner is 39.

2. My average mobile life? If I'm only listening to music, consequently at least adjectives day. I hold no idea. If I'm watching a video, after probably 3 hours.
3. I use mine all daytime every day, so I across the world have to charge it once a year.
4. Yeah - I forgot to charge it, so I had nil to listen to while I was waiting for a round-table.
5. Nah. My friend lost hers, because it's so small, but that's it.

2. video - 18 hours of music, much much smaller number with video. Maybe 3 hours. Mini - 24 hours? It holds up much better.
3. I charge them for in the order of an hour before my workouts.
4. The mini lost adjectives battery power during my flight to Ireland closing month. I love it, but it's difficult to turn off - sometimes if I've shut it past its sell-by date it will start back up on its own. The "Hold" point is supposed to eliminate that problem.
5. Overall everyone I know say that with their iPods they'd be cheerful in Hell. (If you can charge them!) The video's freestyle life isn't great but I hear particularly few complaints about the Mini.
