I really don't want anything fancy, it will actually be my first MP3 player if I take it.
it's a refurb, with earbuds, no guide, no software, 90 day warranty.
will I call for to buy anything extra for it? charger, USB cable, etc?

Sounds too cheap! MP3 should be about $50-$60 presently for a decent one, near warranty, and the original freestyle charger. I have two different ones, one get over heated in the first 2 hours when I brought home due to the wrong charger. It be dead on arrival. The 2nd one is get a right charger, and still working. I also have a MP4, the MP4 is much better than MP3, it can nouns a lot of photos, video clips, paper on it. cost about $100. I give it to my girl friend, I feel the component is too small. Not good satisfactory for me. Make sure to buy the one with warranty, otherwise, if something go wrong, you can not return. Good Luck! If you can get a USB cable for it minus spending a whole lot, I would voice that it's a pretty good agreement. Refurbs are usually good buys, because the factory does a appropriate job making sure that everything is working fine. Just variety sure to find a replacement USB cable for it before you buy. It would really suck to return with an MP3 player that can't be used because you can't charge it or put music on it.
