the basis for this is because my ipod touch isnt being found by my computer..
& if you know, how come on my sister's computer, the little splash in the battery-operated meter shows up, but not in my computer?

Yes, the old iTunes will acquire deleted and be replaced by the untried iTunes after you download it. And the reason it comes up on your sister's workstation is because she has a untried iTunes version and/or a newer interpretation for her iPod. APPLE23!
if you re-install it, it won't delete the songs. I've done it several times where my computer wouldn't read my ipod, so I have to reinstall the ipod and itunes and my old one would come up again.
