Answers:
I agree near Lana, You just can't thrash the ipod overall, I suggest classic or nano.
I own an ipod and I wouldn't want any other brand. I hold a ipod classic, and you can fit so much on it for the money compared to any others.Plus the quality of an ipod basically can't be beat.

I've owned both an iPod and a Zune, and Zune definitely beat all. Here's why I close to mine:

1. Best hardware - Big glass peak, nice brushed aluminum backside, sturdy smooth plastic on the front, and good touchpad. It's also durable unlike the iPods that gash and break down a lot.
2. UI is undeniably the best - compared to the regular iPod Videos and Classics, the UI is absolutely great on the Zunes.
3. FM Radio - if you similar to to discover music, catch up next to daily report, listen to talk radio, enter contained by radio contests, among many other things, Zune have FM radio.
4. Lots of customization - You can choose your own menu background, laser etch text or artwork via Zune Originals ( https://zuneorignals.com/ ), catch lots of cases and other accessories.

6. Supports far more popular file formats and codecs than iPods.
7. Zune Marketplace have a much more nicer browsing experience and you can use a rental option, and bring a lot of songs for one flat monthly levy.
8. Zune software is also easier to use, and isn't as cumbersome as iTunes.

Among many other things. Seriously, you should really at least possible give them a try.

If you don't close to it, you can return it to your retailer. I did that one time, and it worked. But I don't think you'll want to return it. :^)

I suggest the Zune 80 for $250.
