Anti-virus for mobile. Is it a must, vital or what?

hm not really. Its not necessary if you one and only install software from from places that you trust.
btw theres alot infected .sis files on emule so be careful It depends on the operating system used by the mobile device.
Currently, only mobile phones using the Symbian S60 R2 operating system are seriously threatened by virus. Although proof-of-concept viruses exist also for devices using the PalmOS, Windows Mobile and Symbian UIQ operating systems, they own no chances of surviving contained by the wild. Note also that in attendance are no viruses for devices using the Symbian S60 R3 operating system, which is much more safe and sound than the R2 version and is incomplatible next to it.
So, unless your devices uses Symbian S60 R2 (mostly the older models of Nokia smartphones - the newer ones use R3), you don't really entail an anti-virus program for it. In many cases (e.g., Java-only phones) you can't own such a program anyway - because the Java (J2ME) security model make the creation of both viruses and anti-virus programs unworkable.
