You enjoy a pretty common configuration and there's upright and bad communication. The good word is that yes, you can definitely win your Sony PSP onto the Internet with the setup you own. The bad communication is that I'm not exactly right when I say "near the setup you have" because you're going to need to buy what's call a wireless router to connect.
Basically, the setup you have works similar to this:
highspeed Internet connection from service provider (BT within your case)
connects to
highspeed modem
connects via Ethernet cable to
your computer
What you need to do is incorporate the new device between the modem and your computer, so that the Ethernet is unplugged from your PC and plugged into the latest wifi device, which then have its own additional Ethernet plug that let you hook directly to your PC. So now, instead of one device between your computer and "the street" (if you will), you'll hold two.
There are cheap solutions like a Netgear Wireless 4-Port Router for $35 at Amazon.com, but I instead suggest that you spend a bit more and carry a wireless unit that supports both the old-fashioned 802.11b and newer (faster!) 802.11g protocols. Here's what I use: Linksys Wireless-G Router for about $60.
While you can configure the wireless web with a password, since the Sony PSP claims to support the multiple secure wireless protocols, my experience is that it never connects properly. Instead, I suggest you go away it password-free, though it's not particularly in safe hands. If you have upright neighbors, you're probably safe...
Anyway, the details of configuring the wireless router are specific on the model you buy, so I can't backing with that factor of the question, but I hope this will consent to you get going within the right direction.
Good luck! Go To Settings Network Update New Connection Scan And If You See A Connetion That Says None In The Security Section Click On It click Right gather settings click on your connection and it will work
In lay down to do this u need to hold a wireless connection contained by ur home no farther than 100 feet away from the psp.
i own at&t, so if u have sumthing different stop reading this presently.
first, look at the bottom of ur modem on ur pc.
second, copy the SECOND set of numbers to a piece of dissertation or sumthing.
then, turn to ur psp and go to the internet.
create a topical connection and saturate in adjectives the needed stuff.
u dont have to saturate in the SSID tho.
put the second set of numbers lower than the WEP id or code factor.
thats wut i did, but it might be a littl edifferent from urs.
if u use a modem then look at the lights and find the one labeled WIRELESS.
if nearby is not one there approaching that than u can not make a nouns on ur psp.
All that dudes gibberish geeze. Simple...get a wireless router. Turn your wifi switch on your psp, goto the pattern browser, try and connect, Id just do the uncomplicated settings, see if it picks up any wireless connection, pick the best strength (if you hold more then one wireless area) and simply configure the easy settings and select that nouns and your good to travel! If you have nouns problems and you do have a wireless router check your figurations on the touter.
