How can I turn sour the unsullied Comcast setup box / DVR (DCH3416) completely? It other stays surrounded by a stand-by mode? This box, which Comcast gave me to replace a
This box, which Comcast gave me to replace a failing DCT6412 will not power past its sell-by date. It uses it's full 30 watts of power whether on or in standby (there is no off)... This is nuts and at hand is no good function for this as a designed behavior. The old 6412 component would power off completely, next if it needed to record a programmed program, it would turn itself on, record the show, next turn itself back stale... If the newer box won't act approaching that I guess I can just ask them to swap it for one of the 6412s.. Anyone else figure a way around this?

Funny you should ask. My mature 6412 would NOT power off completely, running contained by a hot standby mode as well. Basically, I deliberate Motorola can't figure out how to produce these units really sleep when 'shut off' within order to start up like a shot when power on is pressed. Hi Max,
The with the sole purpose way to draw from it off is to unplug it. I am next to you - it is a total waste of perkiness and I don't understand it.
