Sony rdr-hx710 HD/dvd recorder, keep complaining that DISC IS DIRTY!? to me it seems when the HD is full

to me it seems when the HD is full it overwrites "bios" information and even when writing is supposed to be TO the HD it says it's dirty.
usually pulling the plug and restarting it will solve it temporarily, but in a minute it's gone completely. when putting a NEW -R disk it formats it, says it's finished and when trying to write to it very soon will say it's not working and rejects it. It makes them adjectives unusable. will not accept +RW anymore but will write (did!!) to them if they are formatted on another (sony 720!)
presently there is no mode for me to empty it as I can't put a to some extent written-to DVD -R in anymore as it formats it when inserted and after rejects it. put back into the 720 it's rejected unusable as the format be probably made (it seems clean looking in the computer and I lose prerecorded background now. anyone an expert please HELP....
Answers:  your disk drive or dvd drive is probably outdated man. mine broke down just similar to yours. recommend to get another one.
