With the unsullied TivoHD and an HDTV you can also record your local High Definition over the heavens broadcast channels.
A Tivo works only just fine with regular TV (antenna). During setup it will ask you how you receive your channel, you choose Antenna and it does a scan of available channels.
I own two Tivo's doing the exact thing right presently - recording TV minus cable TV service. Other than a reduced amount of channels for viewing, it have all the cool features and functionality as any other Tivo. Hi akteoxis,
You can record regular TV onto TiVo. When you set up your TiVo you let somebody know it how you get your TV. It will consequently know what channels you procure.
If you just want to history by time and channel after I would recommend a non TiVo DVR. TiVo has a monthly subscription tax and will not work if you don't subscribe.
For a no subscription DVR I recommend the Philips. There is no monthly fee. You set it to transcription by time and channel resembling an old VHS. It have a built in DVD recorder and you can verbs shows to DVDs if you want.
WalMart sells them. There are lots of others available but this is my favorite. Go here and be sure to scroll down to see adjectives the features and information - http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.d...
