Okay, my Motorola(Comcast) DVR has A/V out connections on it, but when I try to connect something to them, zilch happens, theres an "input" on the remote, i press it and zilch happens. Why are they even near? And why are there USB ports on it? I connect my laptop to it, but next again, nothing happen. lol ( So, do i need software on my computer for it to work on it? and why are at hand A/V ports on it?)

I did the same item so I called them and those are extra ports for the adjectives and they do not work at this time. The A/V outs to your tv sounds as if they are going to a different video input. Try pushing the tv/video button on the remote until you get your signal.
Forget the usb ports unless you want software upgrade.
