I bought a DVR that needs an external tuner to procure TV channels. I be wondering if I could somehow hook it up to my VCR (and of course enjoy both attached to my TV) and that way the VCR would achievement as an external tuner to enable the DVR to receive the stations. If this would not work, what other option do I have? How much might an external tuner cost? I hold Best Buy gift cards and prefer to buy from nearby if possible because I'd own to spend cash I don't really enjoy if I buy from somewhere else.

Can we hack our Dish?
Well we have Dish Network. It is a Super Dish, and a reciever specifically supplying 2 tvs with shows. We hold one remote that cannot go thro walls, the other one can. It is call like UVA or something. I be wondering if we could hack our dish or reciever or the little gold box that have cables running from the dish to our reciever to allow us to affix more tvs with cable? I have a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300 DVR through Time Warner. I would similar to to "upload" one of my kid's DVDs onto the DVR so I can access and play the content through my DVR "List" functionality without have to go through the gymnastics of auxillary inputs, dvd players, or even locating the disk everytime. Is such functionality even possible?
