Consumer Electronics FAQ
I hold a LCD HDTV and a standard DVD player and a cable outlet. What cable do I necessitate to procure to set up?
Answers:
Check the holes within the back of the LCD, that will present you some direction as to what you CAN plug into it.
Most likely adjectives you'll need is a COMPONENT cable (yellow, red, and white) to the DVD player, and next the cable either into the DVD player or the tv. A COMPOSITE cable (red, green, blue) will provide you a better signal, about later you'll need to hook up separate speakers.
If you want HD, you have need of to get a digital cable box, next to an HDMI cable, to get a really well-mannered signal. We have a 46" LCD HD and LOVE it. You enjoy a lot of choices, depending on your budget and desired trait of video signal.
Are you going to get an HDDVD player, or Blue Ray?
No, I don't think so! For the DVD player, use (in order of element from best to worst) Component, S or composite.
Component is red, green , blue; S is a small round connector; composite is yellow RCA.
Also use red/white RCA cable for sound.
If your TV have a coaxial input, you can connect the cable to it.
If you hook-up the cable directly to the TV and you have a QAM tuner, you'll receive any unsrcambled digital TV, including HDTV, that's on the cable. You'll also receive any unscrambled analog TV that's on the cable.
If your TV doesn't own a coaxial input, or you don't have a QAM tuner, or you're not rewarded with the predetermined HDTV you can get beside the QAM tuner, you will have to carry an HD box and service from the cable company.
