Weird interview: my 90's model Magnavox go to a black eyeshade on definite channel, and say words.Help!? Is there something different roughly these channels( FX, Nickelodeon

Is there something different roughly these channels( FX, Nickelodeon and Comedy Central)that would make my tv put up a black peak that takes up almost the together screen (but not quite) and sometimes it tell me the channel, approaching it will say FX HILLKING KING HE or some foolishness when King of the Hill is on, or on Comedy Central it might say simply COMEDY. It seems to come up mostly on these three channels, but have happened on other channel, not as frequently. Sometimes it just say nonsense, or abnormal symbols, other times it just say HA. What the heck is going on? One time I came contained by to find my 3-year old have poured the baby's powder all over the room and the tv a short time ago said HA. Please take this as a serious cross-examine, because I do not know where else to hold this question!
Answers:

Get a new cable box or the station is broadcasting what you see. Stuff happen all the time. Call your cable company. Baby powder surrounded by and of itself is not a consumer electronics risk unless too much of it is poured into something and the device overheats but that is not the create of this.

It would seem that your child possibly -- only possibly -- got into the menu or setup of your TV and manage to change the setting for closed caption to either CC1, CC2 ... or more feasible TEXT 1, TEXT 2 ...

If you do not need closed caption set that option to OFF. Text 1 and Text 2 when they do work on a conduit are text services which place a big black eyeshade over most of the picture. If the station has this service consequently such text might appear. If they are trialling this service for some reason such manuscript might appear. But if you set it to OFF it does not appear.

CC1 and CC2 are closed captions and they single appear when typed in or sometimes -- next to some TV sets -- stay on the screen until unknown captions are received. So if the dialogue be "HEY YOU!" and then a commercial come on with no caption then "HEY YOU!" might stay on the eyeshade during the entire commercial break.

The only other manual that can be displayed on TV is the channel identifier which sometimes have to be set for each dike in a TV or can be another alternative in the menu. Look for something that say identifier or channel ID or something resembling that and turn it off contained by the menu. But that should just be a small word on the peak and not a whole blind display.

Weird symbols result from captions one turned on (CC1, CC2 and the like) but bad signal part is messing up the caption string. This can also be the result of a bad heading decoder that is out of specifications (this factor of the TV is bad) but shutting it off get rid of that.
