How to calibrate an HDTV? I know there are programs you can acquire and
I know there are programs you can acquire and install on a laptop, then connect it to the HDTV and calibrate the picture to the best it can be. Does anyone know where on earth I can get one of these programs? I quality of want to do it the best way possible instead of using the DVD's that oblige you do it. Thanks.

in fact i never heard of programs of anything close to it...you actually necessitate a Little machine...but if you really wanna take it calibrated...run to "Geek squad" they will do it is not that expensive(i know for own experience).
And the only piece is go within to look better is actually the black colors...surrounded by my case they kind it look no as bright...and i don't really like it...so i put it subsidise...but make sure you entail to calibrate it....good luck! A company makes a product call "Spyder" to calibrate computer monitors and I believe they came out beside one for televisions.
Pick up a copy of "Digital Video Essentials" first. It contains test-patterns and tutorials on how to adjust your blind.
If you decide to hire someone, look for an "ISF Certified" calibrationist.
FU(at)K the Geek Squad! There is a much easier and free means of access to calibrate your tv. Get a dvd that is Lucasfilm THX certified, any Star Wars, LOTR, or Pixar flick is. You hold to own one of these! If not, rent one just for this. Put the fundamental disc in, dawdle for the main menu to come up. Look for the THX logo surrounded by one of the corners, highlight and click on it. You will later have option to enter a video and or audio calibration. Eventhough I own more advanced calibration discs (and have compared the results) the THX one is outstandingly effective, simple, and did I voice free!
