Buying an HDTV? I want to buy a 42" LCD HDTV.

I want to buy a 42" LCD HDTV. When you go to the store, it is for a moment confusing. They have some for almost $800 and some for over $1000. Should I just buy the low cost TV because they are adjectives about alike, or should I consider a higher priced TV because it is much better and merely a few hundred more? I would rather hold a good TV for $1000 than a peice of cast-offs for $800. What is the best brand? What kind of specs do I look for?
Answers:

Make sure you get something that have 1080P resolution. Resolution and contrast ratio are the two most improtant spec to worry in the order of. Go with a better brand describe, a buddy of mine bought a vizio and that thing have a horrible picture compared to my LG. Look for multiple HDMI connections...multiple composite cable connections, at lowest possible 1080 i or 1080p (better) resolution capabilities. Sharp, Toshiba, Samsung produce great LCD HDTV's. I have a 37 inch toshiba LCD. I love it. I compensated about 1200 for it, but you can but it presently for 800. That was smaller number than 2 years ago!!
you can check specification from this store
You hit the nail on the guide there....

You can buy an $800 piece of cast-offs or you can buy a $1000 BRAND NAME that has be in business for over 20 years and they Provide parts, Service and SUPPORT for your TV set....

And God know, we need that beside our new HDTV sets....
