My HDTV local channel are not? ok. had a regular t.v until Saturday. go out

ok. had a regular t.v until Saturday. go out and bought a brand new 37" Philips HDTV. What a picture at Best Buy! Get it home, hooked up my antenna, sit back to monitor my local channels (cbs,abc,nbc)...and they are smaller quantity clear than my regular t.v.channels be.There isn't any static but where's the crystal clear picture? All I really ended up doing is spending $900 to increase my peak size by 5". I fell for the marketing scheme and bought a different $40 HD antenna(yea, I'll return it, it's no better than what I had). My next step is to spend $50 to bring Best Buy out but any suggestions first? I own DishTv but haven't bought the new HD addressee yet so I don't expect the dish channel to be clear until I do. If a stronger antenna is needed, how powerful? maybe I'm easy to fool but I thought I could buy an HDTV, bring it home and enjoy a clear picture.

Are you watching thru the dishtv? make sure to push the antenna button on the remote to swith to the HD antenna. That should agree to you scroll through what is called the lower channels (2 = reg, 2.1 = HD)
GOod LUck!
You can relish a clear picture..WITH an HD SIGNAL.

Not with your LOW DEF signals....

Why do you feel they developed HD?

Oh, and your old TV signals are JUST AS CLEAR as they be on your OLD TV set....but now you hold MORE resolution in your NEW TV and it shows EVERY FLAW within the old signal....

New signal time....

Now if you HAVE an ATSC tuner built into your TV set, you call for to connect your antenna to the HD tuner jack, select Autoprogram and make sure you scan for DIGITAL TV stations and not the ANALOG TV stations....read your instruction almanac for the information about the type of tuner you own and how to use it.

Get a over the atmosphere antenna and watch the local surrounded by true HD. Regular TV channels will not look that great. HD channel will look wonderful. I suspect that you're looking at the local stations' analog channel. Most stations are broadcasting an analog and a digital channel presently. You need to find out what their digital rut number is. Check antennaweb.org for your local area.
