Are plasma tvs just honourable for hi-def tv? I'm looking into buying a plasma tv but I've

I'm looking into buying a plasma tv but I've heard the pictures simply good if its hooked up to hi-def tv. Is it going to be a misuse of money if I don't pay extra for the hi-def service?
Answers:
Yeah, it's going to be a waste of your money....You'll achieve by with your Low Def Cable or Satellite box and your Low Def TV set for several years....

Then by that time, you will hold ALL DIGITAL TV stations, and your HD TV will be worth the money you throw at it.
Short Answer: Of course they are. All soaring definition tv sets have problems beside SD pictures to some extent. It has to do near the fact that you are taking a granular picture (480i) and blowing it up (720p or 1080p). Some units are better than others at showing a wearing clothes SD pictures but don't expect anything that looks as clear as a regular CRT tv set. Also, if you don't sit too close to the tv, you will not notice much of a difference.

I hold a 42" panasonic plasma and a 27" Toshiba CRT TV and the picture clarity on the Toshiba appears better than the Panasonic when viewing SD programming. However DVD movies on the plasma is much better than on the Toshiba even though the DVD is SD resolution.
