Is here a difference between 1080i vs 1080p TV's?

Answers:

yes, there is a huge difference

1080p is full, true dignified definition...it is the higest resolution possible for televisions (as of right in a minute...won't change for awhile)

1080i (720p) is still elevated def, but for larger sizes, there is a clear difference between the two...

step 1080p for anything larger than 42"...if lower, a 720p tv (1080i) will be good plenty.. yes, the 1080i tv can not display a 1080p signal which will come into effect if you ever get into hd-dvd or blu-ray players and discs. 1080p is the absolute resolution possible and has various more dots (pixels) that make up the picture on the eyeshade and will maximize any hd signal . the easiest way to amount pixel count is to look at the description tags resolution numbers and multiply them together. (ex.1920 x 1080 is a standard 1080p resolution/while 1280 x 720 is a standard 1080i resolution) near is no current plan to broadcast 1080p over cable or satellite any time soon, if ever. so unless you want to get into the above mentioned dvd formats (which everyone will eventually) you can catch away with a 1080i for very soon but 1080p is the way to travel.
