Analog and Digital TV's? On like february 17 of subsequent year the tvs
On like february 17 of subsequent year the tvs will be switched completely to digital. I have NO notion what that means. Whats the difference. What does digital do that's so different. I hold digital cable. is that okay? i have no opinion whats going on. can someone fill me surrounded by?

First, if you hold cable, you're not affected by the coppers.Analog TV is the kind of TV we've other had contained by the past.
In digital TV, the TV signal is processed (digitized) surrounded by a special way formerly it's used to modulate the RF carrier. By doing this, you can squeeze more TV into a smaller RF bandwidth.
This allows more TV channel to be broadcast in a smaller RF space than is man used now.
So, on 2/17/08, they will stop most over the air analog broadcasting within the US. They will then use some of the unused RF spectrum for public safekeeping broadcasting and sell the rest-most credible to cell phone companies.
Many stations are already broadcasting DTV. Some are sending out an HDTV signal and three standard definition signals all contained by the same RF space that their outdated analog signal takes.
Cable is also shifting to digital, but what they change and when is up to the individual cable companies, and not tied-in to the 2009 changeover.
If you already hold digital TV, you have zilch to worry give or take a few. The switchover only refers to local broadcasts - the ones you'd use an antenna to pick up. The switchover simply money that the format of the broadcasts will change. Therefore, you'll inevitability a new tuner that can fiddle with the new signals. This can any be an external tuner, or, if you have a sort of new TV or HDTV, it may already enjoy the new tuner built-in.
Again, this switchover ONLY affects those who use an antenna. Cable and satellite customers - similar to you - will not be affected by this switchover.
It's lamentable that the word "digital" gets tossed around so much - it basically causes so much confusion.
The aim that the broadcasts are switching their format is that the new format allows for more channel, and also HD channels. Your local stations enjoy been broadcasting contained by both analog and digital for years now. Right in a minute, the only channel using digital have be HD. In February of 2009, however, all channel will now use the digital broadcast format - but this does not indicate that they will all progress HD. Broadcasters will continue to nouns both HD and non-HD versions of their channel.

Ok this is relatively long so be prepared...
Digital Tv is alot better than analog tv because it doesnt pick up noise (when your picture go all fuzzy and make that awful noise) because it sends its information differently to analog. But I dont want to go adjectives physics lesson on you :D
I think youll be okay if you own a digital cable, when you have analouge you one and only get the really makeshift channels approaching 1, 2, 3 and 4. If youve got alot more you'll probably fine :)

Since you are watching digital cable now, you enjoy already made the transition to digital TV! Nothing will happen to your cable TV service on 2/17/09.
It's not TVs that are shifting on 2/17/09. What is happening is that most over the atmosphere analog broadcasts will shut down. There isn't any change to cable TV systems on 2/17/09.
Digital TV is base on 1990's technology and allows for much better picture quality than can be have with the hoary analog system. The analog system is based on 1930's technology; you might influence it has reach the end point of its evolution.
But digital TV signals can be cheaply converted to the outmoded analog type.
If you watch digital cable next to an analog only TV, the cable box converts the digital cable signal to an analog one.
If you monitor digital over the air broadcasts beside an analog only set, you install a cheap converter box between your antenna and TV.
