True HD is not the best terminology to use. There are 2 types of HD broadcasting, 720p and 1080i. So, yes a 1366 x 768 panel is skilled of displaying 720p HD signal. A 1920 x 1080 panel on the other hand is inherently capable of displaying a "Full" 1080 HD signal one broadcast. I believe the best way to explain is the differences, is simply "HD ready", & "Full 1080 HD Ready" as at hand is no bigger HD signal than 1080 - hence the "Full" expression.
Its something to do beside the amount of lines of pixels the tv has. The better the number of lines, the better the resolution. Nigel's answer is pretty much spot, but I will evaluate further.

Fist of all, that set is not 1080p, and whoever come up with that marketing hypothesis needs a firm see to the groin. That is rediculously underhanded. Those sets are 720p sets and they label them as 1080HD which simply finances that it will take within 1080p and down convert it to 720p. I would expect this of companies like Westinghouse who does it, but not Panasonic. They've hit a unknown low.

Second, in charge for a television to be labeled beside the "Full HD" label, they must be 1920 X 1080. Plasmas however, are harder to produce contained by smaller sizes in set resolutions. For example, instead of making them surrounded by set resolutions that were relatively standardized within 42 inch sets, they were be forced to adapt to 1024 X 768 instead of 1366 X 768. The same holds true near today's plasmas in the 42 inch size stock. The set itself IS NOT pure 1080p, it is 1440 X 1080. All 42 inch plasmas are. There will never be a pure 1080p plasma. Plasmas really aren't worth while until a 50 inch size range.

In totting up to all of this, stay away from the 80 series near the anti-glare. They have considerably more problems than their regular plasma sets next to the glare.
